F-35 for the Netherlands

The Netherlands was the second international partner to receive the F-35, and continues to serve as a key contributor to the production and sustainment of the F-35 Lightning II advanced fighter. The Dutch are making plans to add to their F-35 fleet to increase the nation’s capability and capacity to engage in allied operations.

2012: The first Dutch F-35, known as AN-1, takes flight in Fort Worth, Texas.

2016: F-35 makes public debut on Dutch soil for environmental testing.

2018: Luke AFB stands up F-35 squadron for the Netherlands F-35 training.

2019: Netherlands’s First Operational F-35, known as AN-3, is delivered from the Fort Worth, Texas, factory.

2019: First aircraft arrival at Leeuwarden Air Base.

2019: Roll out of first Dutch F-35 produced at Cameri, Italy, FACO.

2021: Netherlands declared Initial Operating Capability (IOC).

2022: First aircraft delivered the first aircraft to Volkel Air Base.

2024: Netherlands declared Full Operational Capability (FOC).

F-35 voor Nederland

Nederland was de tweede internationale partner die een F-35 in ontvangst mocht nemen. Tot de dag van vandaag is het een belangrijke partner in de productie en bij het onderhoud van het geavanceerde F-35 Lightning II gevechtsvliegtuig. Nederland maakt plannen om de huidige F-35-vloot uit te breiden om de mogelijkheden, en bijdrage aan partnermissies, te vergroten.

2016: De F-35 maakt debuut op Nederlandse bodem voor omgevingstesten.

2018: Vliegbasis Luke (Arizona) start F-35 squadron voor Nederlandse F-35 training.

2019: De eerste operationele F-35 van Nederland, bekend als de AN-3, wordt geleverd vanuit de fabriek in Fort Worth, Texas.

2019: Het eerste vliegtuig komt aan bij Vliegbasis Leeuwarden.

2019: Uitrol van de eerste Nederlandse F-35, geproduceerd in Cameri, Italië, FACO.

2021: Nederland Initial Operating Capability (IOC, initiële operationele inzetbaarheid) verklaard

2022: Eerste vliegtuig geleverd aan Vliegbasis Volkel

2024: Nederland officieel volledig operationeel inzetbaar (FOC) verklaard.
