Built in Japan, for Japan
Lockheed Martin and Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) have partnered together to stand up the Final Assembly and Check-Out (FACO) facility for the F-35 Lightning II in Nagoya, Japan.
The Japanese FACO facility performs the final assembly and check-out of F-35A Lightning II aircraft to be delivered to the JASDF. The first four F-35s for the JASDF were built at the Fort Worth, Texas, F-35 factory. The Lockheed Martin and MHI team are working together to assemble and deliver F-35 aircraft from the Japanese assembly line.
