Lockheed Martin understands that a skilled support and maintenance crew is just as critical as team in the air. The Lockheed Martin C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System (MATS) assures that they, too, will be ready when duty calls. C-130J MATS is a state-of-the-art program that provides a comprehensive range of training devices and training support services to your aircrews, including aircrew instruction, operations, contractor logistics support and engineering services.
Located at Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, the C-130J schoolhouse is the U. S. Air Force’s Formal Training Unit (FTU) for C-130J aircrew and maintenance personnel. C-130J MATS provides ground-based academic and simulator lessons for warfighters. A full Training Systems Support Center (TSSC) provides operations and maintenance (O&M), revision and maintenance (R&M) engineering tasks, security program, student publications library and learning center operation training. The C-130J MATS program also provides the USMC Weapon Systems Trainers for the KC-130J aircraft, including one year of interim Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for each delivered trainer.
Graduates of the FTU will be mission-qualified and can report immediately to operational units in the Air Mobility Command (AMC), Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), and Air Nation Guard (ANG).
C-130J MATS is supported by the Main Operating Base (MOB) at Keesler AFB, Mississippi, where C-130J continuation and refresher training is provided for all C-130J aircrews.
